VSR-98 “Flora” Camo pattern effectiveness
Flora’s effectiveness is derived from its abstract floral pattern, which closely mimics the general appearance of underbrush and foliage found in many wooded areas. The pattern’s mix of colors and shapes creates a disruptive effect, making it more difficult for the human eye to detect the outline of soldiers against a background of natural vegetation. This makes VSR-98 particularly suitable for operations in rural and forested terrains.
The design incorporates larger patches of color compared to earlier camouflage patterns, which helps break up the wearer’s silhouette at greater distances. This characteristic is particularly beneficial in open woodland environments where soldiers may be exposed to observation from afar. The variety of greens and browns within the pattern also allows for seasonal versatility, providing effective concealment in both lush and sparse foliage conditions.
